Special interests – every speech pathologist on the Speechcare team is fully qualified and has an area of special interest. This means that you can be directed/matched to the speech pathologist most suited to you or your child’s area of difficulty.

Alison, the director, is Hanen trained and enjoys providing parent and teacher training programmes.

Emma is highly skilled in fluency. Emma currently is a clinical educator in the Speech Pathology Department at University of Queensland and also delivers lectures to the students in the field of fluency.

Terese has a wealth of experience and knowledge in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Feeding. Terese spent 15 yrs working at a specialist early intervention service with children who had Autism spectrum disorder or complex developmental needs.

Beth has a special interest in voice, particularly professional voice users. Beth has a Masters degree in music and a graduate diploma in Opera. She also loves working with school aged children helping them with language and literacy concerns.

Rachel has a lot of experience with prep and school-aged children and regularly visits colleges and schools.

Helen is our Saturday Speechie and is skilled in working with young late talkers, literacy and stuttering. She is also fluent in Cantonese.

Kate has a wealth of experience and extra qualifications in the area of disability.She runs our Bridges to social communication programs.

Janet has had many years working with adults in the hospital setting and is particularly interested in neurological conditions, hearing impairment and stuttering.

Belinda has worked in Queensland Health for many years and is experienced in early intervention and feeding. She loves working with children who have ASD or other disabilities.

Teresa works within the school setting and uses her additional education qualifications to help students transfer speech and language goals to the classroom. She is also our mobile speechie and enjoys providing therapy to children in their home setting.

Claire is another Saturday Speechie and loves working with children of all ages. She has had experience working in Queensland health in country Queensland

Carley has a special interest in adults especially those with Parkinson’s disease and she has the LSVT Loud qualification. Carley works in a hospital setting when not at Speechcare.

Experience – Speechcare speech pathologists have (collectively) over 100 years of experience working in the profession. This experience is invaluable in providing you with the best possible speech pathology service.

Convenience – Speechcare is centrally located with parking on-site and a bus stop at door. Access is both wheelchair and pram friendly. We have Hi-Caps for easy health fund claim at the time of consultation and we are a member of Dept of Social Services early intervention provider panel for Helping Children with Autism and the Betterstart  programme for children with a disability. And if you can’t get to us, we provide mobile and school based services.
